We’re So Busy & Moving Less
As we age we tend to move less. It’s natural right? When we were kids we were always running around in playgrounds, up and down the hallways. But our jobs, physical capacity, urban living, Netflix or habits have made us used to sitting around more.
Instead of taking the stairs we take the lift. The local shops, now replaced by big supermarkets are usually farther away and so we usually drive.
Those missing little pieces of daily movement add up. And we’re paying for it with our health.
How Much Do We Need To Exercise?
(HINT YOU DON’T NEED TO SPEND HOURS IN THE GYM)
The WHO has said that we need 150-300 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week, or roughly 30 minutes a day.
Sounds reasonable, doesn't it?
Except I know how hard it can be to get up and moving after a long day and commute home. If I don’t exercise in the morning, I won’t exercise at all. Although I’ve recently replaced perfect with good enough in the form of exercise snacks.
Exercise snacks are really just fitting in movement whenever I can.
- Have twenty minutes after lunch? Go for a brisk walk in the park.
- Pick one day a week to go to bed early and set the alarm earlier for a yoga session to stretch for 15 minutes 🤸
- Take those stairs to work, or park further away - those little steps soon add up
- Working from home? Put on an exercise video and lift some WEIGHTS! Try my easy USE IT OR LOSE IT series to tune in and tone up!
It doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. In fact, the easier the better as you’ll commit to daily movement when you have fewer obstacles.
Speaking of obstacles… I am all about aging well and full of beans- and I want you to do too! That's why I created my latest product fabÜ SHROOMS JOINT BONE MUSCLE to keep us all going longer. It’s a unique blend of gorgeous ingredients, including hyaluronic acid and glucosamine, magnesium and of course reishi mushroom.
Life’s An Adventure- Let’s GO! 💪
We all want to build our muscles and move our bodies well into our nineties. Movement not only helps build muscles- which can make us look and feel great, but it helps our joints too. Muscles carry our bodies alleviating joint stress, keeping us pain free. When we move, we produce more synovial fluid, the moisturizer for our joints and cartilage, keeping us limber longer! Regular activity also decreases bone loss and may help control joint swelling and pain.
Fit in fitness wherever you can. Some movement is better than no movement 💜
